I need any and all information on Critter Nation cages. We just got one for Jenks and Rafael and I want to be extra prepared and I also have a few specific questions.
Is there some easy way to pin something like clear place mats on the outside of the cage (except for where the doors are) to prevent them from flinging their poo? (They really love flinging their poo) Even with a tall pan they somehow find a way to get poo out of (our current) cage... XD
And any other links would be awesome. Links to other topics in this community, links to outside places, how to decorate, how to keep clean, any and all things related to Critter Nation cages. (I suppose info about the Ferret Nation would work too.) I want my two babies to have the best cage experience ever!
Advice appreciated wholeheartedly. Thank you very much!

Once my boys were about 4-5 months old, they could no longer balance gracefully on the edge hopping in and out... instead it tipped over, dumping litter and poos everywhere.
So I would figure the ladder helps to hold down the litter box.

I haven't really had the problem of them pooping at the base of their ladder, either.

I currently have some coroplast cable tied to my cage. I was just going to describe it, but since my digital camera is on my desk, I will just grab a picture of it...
It looks a little messy at the moment. I just used what was available. It really keeps the poops in the cage. Some still make their way out, but it is only like... 95% contained for me now. Which is nice, 'cause I don't have to wheel the cage out from the wall and mess up my bamboo mat all the time. I will probably get some thick clear plastic or something eventually and attach it on the outside of the cage. My girls like chewing up the coroplast.

If you go with the place mats, I think you'll need to cut them in half lengthwise or something. You don't want to block off all the grating except the front, because that would limit air circulation in the cage.
